Our public promise

Important records link back to the public agency or organization responsible for the information.
The portal does not tell people which candidate, party, or political position to support.
Privacy
What the current website does—and does not—collect
Browsing the portal
The current public preview does not require a name, email address, phone number, home address, Social Security number, financial information, medical information, or political affiliation. It does not contain first-party advertising trackers or a first-party analytics service.
Information entered into tools
Searches, community selections, filters, and calendar-link preparation are handled in the visitor's browser in the current preview. The portal does not currently create a named civic profile from those actions.
Technical records
Like most websites, a future hosting provider may temporarily process basic technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, error record, and access time. Before public launch, the final hosting arrangement and retention practices should be reviewed and reflected here.
Other services
External links, translation, and calendars
The portal links to government agencies, schools, nonprofits, news organizations, calendar services, and other independent websites. When you open one of those services, its own privacy and accessibility practices apply.
- Google Translate: the language menu loads a Google service. Google may receive technical information when that feature is used.
- Google Calendar: choosing “Add to Google Calendar” opens Google with the public meeting details needed to create the event. The People's Portal does not receive your Google account information.
- Apple and Outlook: downloadable calendar files contain public meeting details. Your calendar application controls what happens after the file opens.
- Donations: donations take place only on an organization's own website. The People's Portal does not process, hold, or store payment information.
Information integrity
How we handle accuracy
The portal organizes public information; it is not the official government record. We aim to:
- Use official or clearly identified authoritative sources.
- Display source links and verification dates where available.
- Separate confirmed upcoming events from recurring schedules and unverified links.
- Preserve cancellations, changed dates, and source conflicts instead of silently guessing.
- Direct visitors to confirm time-sensitive, legal, election, eligibility, and emergency information with the responsible organization.
Independence + fairness
What nonpartisan means here
The People's Portal may explain how to participate, contact officials, attend meetings, register to vote, research candidates, request records, volunteer, or support independent organizations. Inclusion does not mean endorsement of every position or activity of a listed organization.
Candidate information should be presented using the same categories and sourcing standards for everyone. The portal should not rank candidates based on ideology, predict how someone will vote, or use personal data to target political persuasion.
Your choices
You stay in control

- You can avoid Google Translate and use the original English pages.
- You can open the official source before acting.
- You can choose whether to download or add a calendar event.
- You can choose whether to visit or donate to an outside organization.
