Choose where you live and what you need. The Portal will point you toward the public body most likely to handle it and show verified contact information when available.
Three quick choices
Find the right starting office
Municipal boundaries, school districts, road ownership, courts, and service areas do not always match ZIP codes. Confirm your address or exact location when the result says jurisdiction matters.
How to use your result
1. Start with the named office
Use the official website, phone, or email shown. Explain the address, location, program, or record involved.
2. Ask who owns the issue
If that office is not responsible, ask for the exact agency, department, or jurisdiction that is—and request a direct transfer or link.
3. Keep a record
Save dates, names, confirmation numbers, emails, screenshots, and any deadlines or promised follow-up.
4. Escalate carefully
Use the Portal’s Accountability tools for records, complaints, meetings, petitions, or additional public oversight.
Emergency or immediate danger: call 911. This routing guide is a starting point, not legal advice, emergency dispatch, or a guarantee of jurisdiction. Official agencies remain authoritative.
